Catherine Hunter, née en 1954 à Ekeren (Belgique), études supérieures artistiques (Illustration) à St. Luc à Bruxelles, mariée, deux enfants, publie en 1979 « Les Mangeurs de Ciel » (éd. Duculot); elle vit successivement à Paris, Genève, Munich, Londres et Bruxelles. Elle s’initie à la céramique à partir de 1988 et ouvre un atelier à Genval en 1998 où elle donne des cours de céramique. Elle créé les « Poules de Catherine Hunter » en 2000 qui seront vendues en milliers d’exemplaires dans le monde entier.
Elle se lance dans un tour du monde à la voile avec son mari à partir de 2004. Elle travaille avec des céramistes et des potiers rencontrés au gré des escales de son voyage.
En 2008, elle ouvre la Galerie Taptoe à Bruxelles et y expose en permanence ses créations les plus récentes. Les visiteurs peuvent la voir à l'oeuvre dans son atelier.

Catherine Hunter, geboren in 1954 te Ekeren (Belgie), zij volgde een artistieke opleiding aan de Hogeschool Saint Luc te Brussel (afdeling Illustratie). Zij is gehuwd met Daniel Beauvois en samen hebben zij twee kinderen.
Zij publiceert in 1979 « De Hemeleters» (uitgeverij Heuff). Ze woont achtereenvolgens in Parijs, Geneve, Munchen, Londen en Brussel. Sedert 1988 werkt zij met keramiek; in 1998 opent zij haar atelier in Genval, waar zij ook les geeft. In het jaar 2000 ontwerpt zij « Les Poules de Catherine Hunter » die in duizendtallen over hele wereld worden verkocht.
In 2004 vertrekt zij samen met haar man met een zeilboot op wereldreis. Gedurende die reis ontmoet zij vele kunstenaars, keramisten en pottenbakkers, waar zij samen meewerkt. In 2007 eindigt het avontuur, na 20.000 mijl op zee.
Van Brisbane (Australië) komen zij terug naar Brussel. Daar opent zij samen met haar man de Galerij Taptoe . Zij zal daar haar nieuwste werken tentoonstellen.

Catherine Hunter, born in Ekeren (Belgium) in 1954, Artistic education at St Luc Superior Art School in Brussels (specialised in Illustration), married with two children, published a book in 1979 « Les Mangeurs de Ciel » (Duculot Edition); she lived successively in Paris, Geneva, Munich, London and Brussels. She learnt ceramics in 1988 and started her own Studio in Genval in 1998 where also taught ceramics. She created « Les Poules de Catherine Hunter » in 2000 and sells thousands of them all over the world.
She embarked on sailing around the world with her husband in 2004. En route she has worked with local artists, ceramists and potters, whenever she has had the opportunity. Their 20.000 miles journey aboard Vamos ended in 2007 in Brisbane, Australia.
In 2008, she opens the Galerie Taptoe in Brussels with her husband and exhibits her most recent works there. Visitors can see her at work.
